- the title is Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday
- this film introduces family members of Jason's other than his mother
- an early concept for this film was Jason goes to LA, where the street gangs would have to team up to fight Jason.
- the introduction of ludicrous idea that a Voorhees family member must kill Jason with a sacred dagger
