My take: The teen slasher film has been around, but few have been able to capture the magic, bottle it, and turn it into the franchise that became Friday the 13th.
A simple premise, a setting which most people have some relation or attachment to (summer camp), a group of helpless teens who get eliminated one by one, and a nice twist at the end equals success. The final body count is 10 - for anyone wondering right now.
Since May of 1980, Friday the 13th has embedded itself into the world horror culture, and will hold a special place in movie history.
The best way to decide what or what not to watch today, as well as another location to share comments about your favorite films. (If you are using a smartphone, be sure to expand posts and check out the web version, too.)
random opening
You notice we review lots of horror movies - that is true, my brother an I tend to favor that genre. However, we have seen plenty of the classics, romantic comedies, sci-fi, action, biographies, foreign films, indie films, anime, and westerns, to boot.
Look around end enjoy. Leave comments or email us.
